We are often asked how our patented laundry system works. We want to make sure you know how to properly wash your shoes in the washing machine. It might scare you to throw your expensive sneakers in the wash, but by following our instructions below, you should see amazing results that can't be replicated with hand washing alone.
Here are some of the most frequently asked questions and answers:
HOW MANY SHOES CAN YOU WASH AT ONCE?
You can typically wash 2-3 pairs of shoes at a time, depending on the size of your washer. Make sure each pair of shoes is in its own laundry bag and add an additional amount of laundry detergent per pair (read all detergent labels). If you are washing shoes of different colors or heavily dyed, we recommend washing them separately.
WHICH WASHING MACHINE TO USE?
We recommend using a top loading washing machine. Due to the weight of the shoes when in a front load washing machine, they usually do not make a full revolution and may sit at the bottom of the washer, which can cause discoloration or mildew.
WHICH SETTINGS TO USE ON THE WASHING MACHINE?
Every washing machine is different, but we recommend using a full spin cycle to completely wash your shoes. Also, it is recommended to use cold water so as not to shrink the shoes.
WHICH SHOES CANNOT GO IN THE WASHING MACHINE?
We do not recommend putting highly colored suede or nubuck shoes in the washing machine because they could lose color. Even printed canvas shoes, like Vans, can get dirty and change color when wet, so we recommend that you don't put them in the washing machine. Additionally, if a shoe is more than 10 years old, the sole may come loose. For best results, contact our team, to ensure your shoe goes in the washing machine.
WHY DO YOU NEED A LAUNDRY BAG?
To protect your shoes. With the rough edges and holes found in most washing machines, the laundry bag prevents shoes from getting snagged or damaged during the wash. Plus, it contains a pouch so you can wash your laces along with your sneakers.
HOW DO SHOES DRY?
It is recommended to air dry them. Never put your shoes in the dryer due to the risk of damaging them. Make sure you remove it promptly from the washing machine for best results, we also remind you not to dry them under a heat source (such as radiators).
WHAT LIQUID TO USE?
We recommend washing your shoes with oursneaker solution , or with Reshoevn8r pods .
